COVID-19 – Triggering Workers Comp?
WorkCover QLD have announced that they will be monitoring the progress of COVID-19 and ensuring their preparedness to process and manage workers compensation claims arising from the virus.
Contracting influenza at work is usually not sufficient to trigger an assertion of occupational illness. However, employers should take note and ensure they have adequate risk management processes in place in accordance with WorkSafe recommendations.
